Alternative Liposuction Procedures

Nowadays, fortunately, liposuction alternatives are becoming more common as the majority of people are looking for alternative methods to get rid of or remove unwanted excess body fat that has accumulated over time.

liposuction alternatives

Costs for alternative methods can be more or less what you would pay for traditional liposuction surgery, but this obviously can depend on the actual alternative method that you choose, as there are some cheaper options available.

Many people seem to believe that they can get rid of their excess fat by simply just working out occasionally or by going on a diet for a few short weeks. Well, it probably took a fair few years for the fat to accumulate in the first place and it will definitely take longer than a few weeks to get rid of it (depending on how overweight you are of course).

However, if you are really serious about losing the fat by the natural method of diet and exercise, depending on the intensity of the routine and workout that you adopt, then it can take some time – although undoubtedly not as long as it took to acquire the fat in the first instance.

Liposuction alternatives (other than diet and exercise) should not be used as an option for weight loss – the following alternative procedures are generally most successful when excess weight has been lost and your weight is stable.

Liposuction has become a quick fix answer to many individual’s fat issues, possibly because we have very much become a society where we all expect to get results immediately.

However, we are now looking at liposuction alternatives that will give quick results as lipo procedures can, whilst trying to opt for the slightly less invasive methods.

Liposuction is currently at the top of the list when it comes to choosing cosmetic surgery procedures. Its appeal has created many liposuction alternatives, including mesotherapy, Lipodissolve, Ultrasonic Sculpting and Thermage – all of which are far less invasive than liposuction itself. But, whilst all of these seem to be potential alternatives to liposuction, their success rate has yet to be proved.

You must ensure that you are the perfect candidate for liposuction before you choose one of the liposuction alternatives as these other options should really be used for body contouring or sculpting only.

Alternatives to Liposuction:

Lipomassage

Lipomassage is another one of the more successful liposuction alternatives and it has a good reputation too.  It is a non-invasive treatment, which doesn’t involve any incisions, drugs or injections and not only does it break up fat, but it also reduces cellulite. It is a procedure that involves motorized rollers applying pressure to the skin surface to break down and smooth fatty tissue deposits caught below the surface of the skin.

It can also flush out any toxins, by improving blood flow in addition to stimulating the production of the body’s natural collagen.

Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is a really popular alternative to liposuction.  It is actually one of the best choices to opt for if you have only a small amount of body fat remaining that is particularly resistant to diet and exercise.

Mesotherapy is far less invasive than liposuction as it works by injections of medications that break down the fat to a liquid, as opposed to fat sucking cannulas being inserted into your body.

The injections involved in mesotherapy are performed with tiny needles, reducing the pain levels to an absolute minimum, and the solution injected contains a mixture of ‘fat-burning’ medications, including amino acids and a derivative of the soy bean.

It is an out-patient procedure, which usually consists of a course of ten treatment sessions which are spaced a minimum of one week apart, but no more than 2 weeks, revealing almost immediate results.

LipoDissolve

Lipodissolve™ is another very popular alternative to liposuction, and is very similar to mesotherapy.  Whilst mesotherapy offers a very quick recovery time, the recovery period for Lipodissolve™ is even faster.

It is able to target nearly all parts of they body, including smaller areas such as the chin and cheeks in addition to larger areas like the abdomen and love handles.

The Lipodissolve™ treatment sessions need to be spaced 6 to 8 weeks apart and it is a little more expensive than the mesotherapy treatment.

Cellulite Removal Creams / Spa Treatments

Other liposuction alternatives include creams and lotions, which are relatively inexpensive.  Revitol Cellulite Solution is definitely a cream worth trying.  I have used it and am really happy with the results.

And spa treatments too, for example seaweed wraps are very popular for the reduction of excess fat.  Generally speaking though, these methods have a relatively short-lived visible success rate.

Diet Pills

Diet pills are regularly recommended as an alternative to liposuction, however whilst they may well be able to help with weight loss, they cannot reshape or re-contour specific areas of the body, and they certainly cannot remove stores of fat from certain areas either. Many pills on the market today even have the word “lipo” in their name, but they are not able to target and contour the body’s problem areas.

Good Old Diet and Exercisealternatives to liposuction

Finally, diet and exercise really has to be the best of all alternatives to liposuction, although it is possibly not necessarily the real favorite, but it is most certainly the most natural alternative.

If you are serious about this method for the reduction of excess body fat, you will need to develop some commitment and personal discipline, in addition to investment of your time. Your doctor may be able to give you some advice about supplements that can help burn fat to accelerate the fat loss process in conjunction to your regular exercise program.

Safer options as alternatives to liposuction are available to everyone – if you are not yet ready for surgical procedures or simply are just not brave enough, perhaps you could consider one of the many alternatives to liposuction first.

Remember that each alternative will involve some level of commitment from you, in both time and money – the quicker and more convenient routes for the removal of fat are more expensive.

Alternatives to liposuction are safer than liposuction, but they do come with some of their own risks as well, although quite minor in comparison to the more traditional liposuction itself.

Do your research first and decide which one is the right option for you.
